Price Changes Coming JULY 1, 2024

As of July 1, 2024 the Canadian Excise tax on all stamped vapour products will increase. This is a federal tax increase applied industry wide. The amount of the increase will depend on the liquid volume of the item and what province you are in. In British Columbia customers should be prepared for an increase of $0.25 to $2.00 per item that contains e-liquid. The BC Vapour tax will remain at 20%.

This $0.25 to $1.00 increase is a combination of the 12% increase on Excise stamps and a slight MSRP increase. For instance, the Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price many salt e-liquids will increase from $24.99 to $26, which is $0.84 increase in Excise Stamp cost and $0.17 increase in profit. 

Ontario, Quebec, Nunavut, and the Northwest Territories are joining the Provincial Excise Stamp program. The provincial excise tax is a new tax implemented on vaping products, containing e-liquid, by the Federal government with invitation for provinces to join. Ontario, Quebec, Nunavut, and the Northwest Territories have chosen to participate. This tax will be applied in addition to the new federal excise tax pricing structure on vaping products. As a result, we will be unable to sell vapour products to participating provinces after September 30th, 2024, unless they have the provincial stamps.

British Columbia is not part of the provincial excise tax. Only changes to the federal excise tax will be applied. 

Thunderbird Vapes is reviewing our retail price of all affected products as well. In a few instances products might see an additional increase. These are to cover rising operating costs and to bring products in line with updated MSRP. Any price reductions will take place in June so customers can maximize on the current stamp prices.
